The American Heart Association web site is an excellent resource for information about heart disease. They offer the latest research information in prevention and treatment, and literature for the lay public and professionals. They also offer free recipes and educational materials.

The American Cancer Society is a good resource for information on nutrition.

Information and publications on cardiovascular disease, physical activity, and nutrition.

The National Cancer Institute website features information on State programs promoting consumption of five servings of fruits and vegetables a day, research publications for various sectors, recipes, tips, and brochures for consumers.

The American Diabetes Association web site.

The American Dietetic Association web site has nutrition education materials.

The American Heart Association has a new physical activity web site, sponsored by the Bayer Corporation. The consumer-oriented site includes text from several AHA and NHLBI publications, and includes health fitness forums with such topics as “How to Stay Motivated.”

National Heart Lung and Blood Institute's web site features cardiovascular health information for the public, a few of the topics addressed include hypertension, cholesterol, and obesity. It also has fact sheets, recipes, and heart-health information targeting minorities. The National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute's educational materials catalog provides descriptions and ordering information for publications and other educational materials available from the NHLBI. Some NHLBI publications are online and may be downloaded in a variety of formats.

National Association of Governor's Councils on Physical Fitness and Sports is a not-for-profit member association of state councils.
