According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, 79,000
deaths are attributed to excessive alcohol use each year making it the third
leading lifestyle-related cause of death in the United States. In Georgia
from 2001-2005, 157 youth died each year as a result of alcohol-related
illness or injury. Alcohol is more widely used among youth than tobacco and
illegal drugs and has been associated with brain damage, intellectual
